Christmas Services

St Mary's Cathedral - open, inclusive, welcoming

Dear [First Name]

Just a quick reminder of the special services that are taking place this week.

This afternoon (Christmas Eve) there's a special all age Crib Service at 4 pm. Please come dressed as a character from the nativity story.

At 6.30 pm there's the Christmas Carol Service with singing from the choir and lessons read by members of the congregation.

Midnight Mass always feels like a very special part of Christmas and this year it begins at 11.15 pm.

On Christmas Day there's an 8.30 am service and then a Christmas Day Eucharist at 10.30 am. (There's no Evensong either on Christmas Day or New Year's Day this year).

There are Eucharists for St Stephem, St John and the Holy Innocents at 9.30 am on the 26th, 27th and 28th of December.

Members of the congregation, Rosemary Hannah and Sophie Agrell, will be getting married on Wednesday this week. There will be a nuptial mass and the blessing of their marriage at 3 pm. Rosemary and Sophie invite any members of the congregation who wish to celebrate with them to join them in the evening in church for a ceilidh.

On New Year's Day, there will be services at 8.30 am and 10.30 am. The 10.30 am service will include the Blessing of the Diaries - an opportunity to consecrate our time as we enter the new year.

At all the services over the next few days a notice sheet will be distributed with details of lots of things coming up at St Mary's over the next few months. This can be downloaded here:

All good wishes for Christmas
