Summer news from St Mary's
Dear [First Name]
Just a few quick bits of summer news to pass on.
In the media - St Mary's has been in the news quite a bit recently with the news that Scottish Episcopal Churches can now marry same-sex couples. There was a good report in the Herald last week that was then picked up in other papers:
There was also a report in the Guardian:
The report that the Herald carried today on its website suggesting that I would be doing the first same-sex marriage in St Andrews Cathedral (ie Glasgow's Roman Catholic Cathedral) was as inaccurate as a report can possibly be!

Welcome to Sister Helena and Sister AJ of the Companions of St Luke
It has been good to welcome Sisters Helena and AJ to the congregation recently. They have recently come to live their Benedictine life in Renfew and to join the congregation at St Mary's. It is hoped to be able to hold a forum to hear more about about what they are doing later in the summer. Sister Helena is a priest and has been given permission to officiate by Bishop Gregor and so will start to exercise some priestly ministry over the next few months.
The next days on which we will be having baptisms in St Mary's at 10.30 am services are
