Blessing of Animals, Dedication Sunday & Rough Guide

St Mary's Cathedral - open, inclusive, welcoming

Dear [First Name]

This is just to let you know some upcoming dates for things at St Mary's.

This Sunday is being kept as a day of Thanksgiving for Creation at St Mary's. In the course of this there will be a blessing of the Animals at 1.30 pm on Sunday 8 October 2017. All animals are welcome. (Experience suggests that more dogs enjoy this service than cats). Do let friends with animals know. All creatures great and small are welcome int his place. In the past we have blessed cats, dogs, guinnea-fowl, terrapins, a parrot and a cockatoo. If you are bringing anything larger (police horses?) then please let me know in advance.

We will be marking Dedication Sunday - a day when we give thanks for St Mary's itself on 22 October 2017. At the end of the month we will be giving thanks for 10 years of having young choristers in the choir. If anyone is in touch with any of the choristers who have sung in the choir during this time, please ask them to be in touch with Frikki Walker on music@thecathedral.org.uk

This year's requiem will take place on 2 November 2017 at 7.30 pm. This is a time when we remember by name those who have died. There will be further details about his nearer the time.

There will be a Rough Guide to St Mary's on Sunday 19 November 2017. This is an introduction to anyone new to the congregation or anyone who has not been at one of these events before.
