Just a few reminders of what's coming up at St Mary's over the next few days.
Firstly, tonight there's a special said eucharist for St Luke's Day. As Luke is traditionally remembered as a doctor, this will be a healing service. 7.30 pm on Tuesday 18 October 2016 in church.
On Friday evening there's a party! As a starting event for our Dedication Festival this weekend (and also the 50th birthday of a Provost known unto you) there will be a Ceilidh at 7 for 7.30 pm in church. There will be a licensed bar and a pizza bar. Admission is free. Dancing to "The Last Tram to Auchenshuggle". (If possible, please indicate you are coming by sending an email to the cathedral office - email@example.com or responding using the Facebook event.
The Dedication Festival will be marked by special services on Sunday. The morning service will include the Vierne Messe Solennelle.
The next God Factor course is starting on 30 October 2016. This is our course about Christian Faith for beginners/enquirers. More details and a booking form on the website.
I will be holding another Plan Your Own Funeral workshop on 29 October 2016 at 10.30 am in the Cathedral Office at 3 Napiershall Street. There's a booking form for this on the website too.
All Saints will be celebrated on Sunday 30 October 2016 and the All Souls Requiem will be on Wednesday 2 November 2016 at 7.30 pm. The music will be the Fauré Requiem.
Finally, the next date for baptisms in St Mary's is the Feast of Christ the King which is 20 November 2016 at the 10.30 am service. There's a baptism enquiry form for this on the website.
