St Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow is hosting a Labyrinth Week from 16 – 21 July 2018. The labyrinth is a replica of the famous labyrinth of Chartres Cathedral which was installed in the middle ages.
Members of the public are invited to come and walk the labyrinth – a meditative walk around the twists and turns, following the path to the centre. The labyrinth is not a maze – there is only one path to and from the centre.
Walking the labyrinth is a devotional exercise, a mini-pilgrimage and a tool for relaxation. It is a place to pray and think for some and a place to refrain from thinking for others. It is a place to wander and a place to wonder.
“Take off your shoes, for the place you are standing is holy ground.”
The Labyrinth will be available during the week beginning Monday 16 July 2018.
Monday to Friday 10 am – 12.30 pm
Wednesday 18 July 2018 between 7 pm and 9 pm
Saturday 21 July 2018 between 10 am and 4 pm
