Stewardship

We believe that practicing stewardship is integral to being the people of God. This means giving thanks for all that we have in life and using it wisely, giving both time and money back to God and investing in the future.

For anyone joining the congregation, it makes sense to take a little time to decide whether you are going to join the congregation formally by registering and being included on the Congregational Roll. Once people have reached that point they are invited to consider some form of regular, planned giving to provide needed financial support to the various works of St. Mary’s.

Like many churches (but unlike those in the Church of England) St. Mary’s relies entirely on congregational giving to keep going. Nearly all expenditure is spent on the building, on running services and on paying and housing the clergy. And nearly all income comes from the congregation.

Against this background, all members of the congregation are encouraged to join the planned giving scheme to enable the Vestry to plan for the future. You can make a monthly pledge to the congregation and pay by credit or debit card using any of the following buttons:

































The following buttons can be used to give money to St Mary’s. If you are a UK Taxpayer, please use the buttons at the top in order to Gift Aid your contribution. This means that the church gets a bonus of being able to reclaim tax back from the government. If you are not a UK Taxpayer, then please use the bottom button.
