This Sunday there are two services in church, and there is Online Worship on this website. There are elements of the Online Worship that will be part of the 11 am service in the Cathedral, and the same sermon will be preached both in the Online Worship and at the services in church. Seats for worship in church can be booked at https://thedatabase.thecathedral.org.uk and are released each week at 12 noon on Tuesday.
The Online Worship for 25 October 2020 can be found in several videos.
- Three videos that form a service of Holy Communion
- A hymn: ‘The splendour of the house of God’
- A video for members of the Young Church and their households
The Vice Provost leads this service from the Cathedral. The Provost is the preacher. Mimi White leads some of the prayers, Robert Mawditt leads the Intercessions, and David Hanson reads the Gospel. The Director of Music, Frikki Walker, plays the organ and piano at this service. Magnus Walker sings the anthem ‘How lovely are thy dwellings’ by Samuel Liddle and the mass setting, which is by Christopher Tambling. The music after the Gospel is by Martin How. The voluntary at the end of the service is an improvisation entitled ‘The Bishop’s Fanfare’.
