From Friday 20 November, the First Minister has indicated that the City of Glasgow is to move into Level 4 in the COVID-19 Strategic Framework. During Level 4 lockdown, regular in-person worship at the Cathedral is suspended. We pray for the wellbeing of the city by practising our faith in different ways and, in particular, by worshipping at home rather than in our building. Once the restrictions are lifted, the cathedral will re-open.
This Sunday, 22 November 2020, Online Worship comes from the Province.
The Bishop of Glasgow & Galloway celebrates this service from St Mary’s Cathedral, Glasgow for the Feast of Christ the King. Robert Mawditt leads the Intercessions. Suet-Lin Teo reads the Old Testament lesson, Helen Leslie reads the Epistle, and the Rev Canon Audrey Stewart, Canon Missioner for the Diocese, proclaims the Gospel. Steven McIntye plays the organ at this service, and Fergus Inns sings an anthem (‘Morning Glory Starlit Sky’ by Barry Rose) and a hymn (‘Rejoice the Lord is King’). The voluntary is ‘Chorale Prelude on Christ is the King’ by Healey Willan.
Rosemary Hannah and Sophie Agrell have prepared a separate video for members of the Young Church and their households.
