Worship for Sunday 17 January 2021 takes place online. On this page find …
- A video that forms a service of Holy Communion
- A hymn (‘Hail to the Lord’s Anointed’)
- A video for Young Church
The Provost leads this service from the Cathedral. The Rev Canon Oliver Brewer-Lennon is the preacher. Hos Hamidian leads some of the prayers, Pat Bennett leads the Intercessions, and Ros Searle reads the Gospel. Morven Bremner sings the mass setting (the Lincoln Communion setting by Malcolm Archer) with Frikki Walker, organ. The music at Communion, ‘Lead me Lord’ by SS Wesley, is sung by Christine Walker and accompanied by Frikki Walker who also plays the organ music during the service. The window at communion is our own retelling of today’s gospel story.
The video of the service of Holy Communion is also available on Facebook and YouTube. (The Youtube video might suit those who prefer to watch on a smart TV.)

Young Church
There’s a video for the Young Church this week.
Rejoice in the Lord always – young church from St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow on Vimeo.
Next Sunday – 24 January, Young Church meets on Zoom from 10:30 to 11:00 am. Christine Walker leads the first of four sessions with children ages 3-8, during which they’ll learn how to make a samba band at home with everyday kitchen items. The thirty-minute session also includes a Bible story and a short prayer said by all. It promises to be a lot of fun.
Young persons must be accompanied by an adult, who must remain online at all times. Join the meeting from a public room in the house (no bedrooms, please) and get ready to samba.
