During Level 4 lockdown, regular in-person worship at the Cathedral is suspended. We pray for the wellbeing of the city by practising our faith in different ways and, in particular, by worshipping at home rather than in our building. Once the restrictions are lifted, the cathedral will re-open.
Online Worship for 29 November 2020 can be found in several videos.
- Three videos that form a service of Holy Communion
- A hymn: ‘Christ be our Light’
- Two videos for members of the Young Church and their households
The Rev Canon Audrey O’Brien Stewart, Canon Missioner for the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, leads this service from the Cathedral. The Vice Provost is the preacher. The Provost leads some of the prayers, Taylor Driggers-McDowall leads the Intercessions, and Zoe Johnson reads the Gospel. Frikki Walker plays the organ and piano at this service. Morven Bremner sings the mass setting (St Anne’s Mass by James MacMillan) and the music at Comminion (‘O Light of Life’ by Mack Wilberg) is sung by Christine Walker. The voluntary played on the Cathedral’s chamber organ at the end of the service is ‘Wachet Auf’ by Johann Walter.
