Quiet Day for Scotland

The weekend nearest to St Andrew’s Day is being promoted by the Church Life Network of Action of Churches Together in Scotland as a suitable time for a Quiet Day for Scotland. The aim is to provide an opportunity for people to find space to be still and more aware of the presence of God in their lives. This year St Mary’s Cathedral, Lansdowne Parish Church and St Columba’s Roman Catholic Church will be taking part in this Quiet Day for the first time. Each church will be open at the following times on Saturday 28 November and (apart from occasional short prayers and Bible readings) silence will be kept in each building for two hours:
Lansdowne Parish Church from 10.00am-12.00 noon
St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral from 12.00 noon-2.00pm
St Columba’s Roman Catholic Church from 2.00pm-4.00pm
