Welcome to St Mary’s, the Cathedral Church for the Episcopal Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway. Sunday services take place at 0830, 1030 and 1830. All Welcome.
The Epiphany is being celebrated in St Mary’s with special services on 2 January 2011 and a Eucharist on 6 January 2011 at 11 am. All welcome to journey with the Magi to visit the Christ Child.
There will be a special service on New Year’s Day at 11 am. All are welcome to bring their diaries (iPhones, electronic organisers, iPad, paper diaries etc) to church for a special blessing to mark the New Year. (Facebook signup here).
Services for Boxing Day in St Mary’s take place at 8.30 am and 1030 am. All Welcome
20 November 2010 10–1.30 pm Faith and Photographs. An opportunity to look at the Cathedral building anew. A short talk from The Rev AKMA Adam followed by time to take photographs.
The Rev Canon Cedric Blakey has been appointed to become the new Vice-Provost of St Mary’s, Cathedral.
Cedric will take up his post at the beginning of December and will be coming to Glasgow from the city of Derby where he has been part of the team at Derby Cathedral and a Minister in Secular Employment, working as an Emergency Planning Officer with Derbyshire County Council.
On announcing the new appointment, the Provost, the Very Rev Kelvin Holdsworth said, “I am delighted to announce this appointment. I want to thank all those members of the congregation who have helped to make this come about, particularly through those who responded so positively to the increased giving appeal earlier this year. My thanks also go to Vestry members who have given advice and support throughout the process and especially to those
who helped with interviewing. Thanks are also due to the Bishop and the Diocese for considerable support, including particularly the provision of a Diocesan house in Scotstoun where Cedric will live.

An extra Choral Evensong will be sung today at 4.30 pm by a group of singers conducted by Assistant Organist, Geoff Woollatt. Music by Stanford, Wood & Franck.
There will be a special event on Friday 5 November 2010 to mark the fifth anniversary of the Scotland-Malawi partnership. This event is facilitated by the Rev Canon John Riches and begins at 7 pm.
The Requiem for All Souls will take place on 2 November 2010 at 7.30 pm. The choir will sing the Duruflé Requiem. Those attending are invited to submit names to be remembered at this service to the Cathedral Office.
